Zuzunaga! Try and say that three times quickly!

We love the special editions he did for Ligne Roset's Togo sofa, the Nanimarquina Digit Rug, and his collaborations with Moroso for the Steel chair.  I may need to get a scarf just to have a little piece of the action.

Calvin Klein sweater, $80. Go to macys.com. Gucci shirt, $510. Go to gucci.com. Burberry Prorsum pants, $795. Go to burberry.com. All other clothing and shoes, his own.

The Designer

The Barcelona-born Cristian Zuzunaga trained as a type designer, and his love for letterpress squares evolved into a fixation on the pixel, “the icon of our time.”

The Things

Photo-derived pixel patterns. His fabric for Kvadrat on the Moroso armchair in his Shoreditch studio is based on a London cityscape; the scarf mosaic is Moroccan-inspired.

The Look

Block party. Zuzunaga’s pixels are a metaphor for a fragmented time. “These shapes are rooted in our unconscious,” he says. “I’m trying to play at a psychological level.”
