The time has come to renovate your kitchen. After exploring kitchen magazines and online sources, you have made the decision to go with a Poliform Varenna kitchen. The natural aesthetics, versatility, and concreteness are all incredibly appealing. So, now what?
Perhaps you have never worked with kitchen designer and the thought of renovating seems daunting. Our job at Studio Como is to make the process down to earth and as smooth as possible.
After arranging an appointment with our team, you can do a number of things to help prepare for your first meeting. Providing as much information as possible will help us in designing the ideal kitchen to meet your needs and complement your personality.
Take photos of your existing space.
Look for inspirational photographs and investigate possible materials you like.
Make a list of your interior and exterior content-small appliances, tabletop items, pots and pans, etc.
Do a rough measurement of your space, or if you are working with a designer or architect have a CAD drawing. Make sure to specify door/ window locations and ceiling height.
Take note of everything you DO NOT like about your existing kitchen. Maybe there is not enough room to prepare food, you need more storage, you are unhappy with your appliances, etc.
Also, consider your daily and seasonal uses. What is the first thing you do in the morning in the kitchen? What does dinner time look like in your kitchen? Do you like to entertain? Maybe you do or don't cook much? What are holidays like in your home, do people congregate in the kitchen?
All of these things are extremely important to note and will allow us to come up with the most functional design for you. So, what should you expect from your first few meetings with us at Studio Como?
First, we will come up with an initial kitchen design including cabinetry, worktops, appliances, interior lighting, and organizational accessories. We will provide a pricing estimate, as well as finish samples for your cabinetry and worktops. We will do an excellent job of explaining your options and benefits for different surfaces. Also, see the journal entry on “Worktops Explained” for more information. Then we will produce renderings to give you a 3D look at the proposed design. This helps to envision yourself in the space and witness all of the uses, aesthetics, and personality of your kitchen firsthand.
Hopefully, this summary has already made you feel more at ease about your renovation. Studio Como is equipped to design the kitchen of your dreams and we will work to exceed your expectations. Please give us a call if you have any questions or are in the initial stages of considering a kitchen. See you soon!
