After 12 hours of flying anything looks good. The La California Relais is far from anything. Situated about 1 hour from the airport, not far from the Lake Como area resides a small piece of paradise. Nestled in a quiet rolling hill community north of Milan called Nibionno. The La California provided all of us a much needed place to lay down our bags and freshen up before a stroll around Lake Como.
With the temperatures in the upper 60's the pool wasn't ready, but Brad and Leah decided to soak up some sun and dip their toes. The plants, aromas, greenery and trees make this little villa a sanctuary.
Dinner and some shopping while strolling on the cobblestone walkways that circle Lake Como.
The architecture around the Lake Como region is beautiful.
Next stop the Poliform Lab.
Benedetta from Poliform orchestrated our entire visit to this region and our tour of the Lab. The Lab has a philosophy they call "Where Ideas Are". The Lab is a collection of ideas that when combined are the definition of the Poliform/Varenna brand image. From the showroom styling to the landscaping, each compliment each other and provide a canvas for the brands. The lab houses the company showroom, marketing, photography and design offices. A beautiful facility that's entirely energy self-sufficient, powered by solar energy.
Taking the Varenna kitchen tour. The new kitchens look amazing. A special thank you to Marco and Simone for taking the time to answer our questions and being such great hosts.
Even the court yard is beautiful.
Brad and Leah taking a break and relaxing in the Poliform Santa Monica armchair.
Varenna manufacturing facility. It was hard to believe they cut, drill and paint in this building, it was beyond spotless.
The Studio Como team.
Sunset from the La California. Thanks again to the entire Poliform family for an unforgettable first day in Italy. Goodnight.
