Tribeca Loft is a 1500 square foot loft situated in a 19th century brick building on the West Side Highway in Tribeca, New York City. The renovation by Workstead consisted of a complete overhaul of the apartment, with new flooring, walls, millwork, and furniture. The original ceilings were uncovered during the course of the renovation, and a new kitchen was installed, crafted of custom zinc panels to reflect the light of the Hudson River below. A white oak bench and a custom radiator shroud run the length of the apartment, while new wood and glass sliding doors create a subtle separation between the living and sleeping spaces. New furniture from Espasso, coupled with the De La Espada Box Sofa by Autoban, pair well with a chair, coffee table, and bed designed and built by Asher Israelow. Minimal in approach, but rich in materials, the apartment is a reflection of the context of the building, and the landscape just outside.
